Managing health problems naturally

NOT all health ailments can be fixed with medicine or drugs. You may need  effective natural remedies from healthy foods.

*Aching joints. You need minerals like manganese and copper. Both are essential for maintaining joint cartilage and flexibility. Supplementing yourself with enough milligrams of these two reverses the joint deterioration and eliminates the pain.

Nuts, beef, and spinach are good sources of these nutrients. But not all would be enough to support your requirements so supplements may be needed.

Try this: if you take 2 mg of copper and 5 mg of manganese each day, in two to three months your joints will be okay again.

* Forgetful. Could be sign of dementia or memory lapses, but it indicates that your omega-3 le-vel is depleting. You need to pump up your omega-3 essential fatty acids since these forms part of the brain's building blocks.

If you're not getting enough in your diet, the architecture of the brain becomes weak, and brain function, including memory, suffers. Balance Omega-3 intake with little Omega-6 fatty acids from processed foods. If you eat more Omega-6, you need to take equivalent of Omega-3 to balance the level. Many are getting more omega-6 than Omega-3.

To avoid occurrence of memory lapses, reduce the amount of refined and processed foods you eat as much as possible, and cook with olive or canola oil. Increase your fish intake especially salmon, sardines or halibut each week. Add two tablespoons of freshly ground flaxseed to cereal, whole grain side dishes, or shakes daily. Try to enjoy eating almonds.

If you can’t get these food from natural source, take fish oil daily. Those in capsulated form are already a combine of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosaentaenoic acid).

* High blood pressure. Fix this with potassium. Having too little potassium in your diet magnifies the toxic effects of excessive salt intake. Most processed foods are loaded with sodium. If your meals come from boxes, you're likely at risk.

As your kidney try to flush out the sodium, your body loses more potassium. Because of imbalance damage to blood vessels, blood pressure starts to shoot up.

Try to cut your sodium consumption to no more than 1,500 mg per day, and eat seven to nine servings of fruits and vegetables every day.

Based on research, potassium supplements in capsulated form have side effects. It can lead to arrhythmia or other cardiac problems.
