A 42-YEAR-OLD man was killed for still unclear reasons in front of a church in Tondo, Manila, the other day.
SPO2 Charles John Duran, of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section, identified the victim as Manuel Ventura, Jr., of 2601 Manotoc St., Gagalangin, Tondo. He died while undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound in the chest.
Investigation showed that the victim was standing at around 10 p.m. in front of the St. Joseph Church located at the corner of Manotoc and J. Luna Streets in Tondo when shot.
The victim’s sister Maricris de Leon told the police that Ventura had stepped out of the house to buy food when she suddenly heard successive gunfire.
De Leon next found the victim bloodied and gasping on the ground, prompting her to rush him to the hospital.
