POLICE shot dead two drug dealers in separate operations in Bulacan and Laguna, police reported yesterday.

Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said the suspect, identified as Jimmy Boy Gruta, alias ‘Toto,’ 28, of Sitio Putol, Bgy. Bulac, Sta. Maria town, died during an exchange of gunfire with local undercover officers after he (suspect) sensed the sting in Sitio Dulong Bayan, Bgy. Poblacion, at 11:10 p.m. Sunday.
Caramat said the suspect also drove off with his jeep (CXC-184) until he was cornered and shot dead. The suspect yielded a cal. .38 Smith & Wesson revolver containing three live ammunition and two spent cartridges in its cylinder, a marked P500 bill paid to him by the poseur and seven plastic sachets (2.6 grams) of shabu worth P12,000, he said.
In Laguna, suspected drug pusher Jonathan Arela Valdecantos, alias Jackie, was killed in an encounter with law enforcers at 6:05 a.m. in Bgy. 6, Ilaya Norte, Paete town.
Elements of the Paete Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspect inside his house.
However, when the suspect sensed that he is negotiating with policemen, he took out his gun and fired at the officers, who returned fire, killing him.
Recovered at the crime scene were a cal. .38 revolver, illegal drug paraphernalia, undetermined amount of money and a sachet of suspected shabu.
