Robbed, abducted trader escapes

A businessman was held up and abducted by two armed men in San Juan City Thursday morning.
The victim, identified as Calroden Tomawis, 21, of 197 Dr. Sixto St., Bgy. Rosario, Pasig City, was able to escape from the suspects, according to Senior Supt. Ariel Arcinas, San Juan police chief.
One of the two suspects, identified as Reynaldo Romasanta Jr., 40, of San Pablo St., Bgy. Batis, San Juan City, was nabbed during a follow-up operation while his cohort, identified as Richard Olivares, escaped.
Investigators said the incident happened along San Pablo St., Bgy. Batis, at 10:20 a.m.
Prior to the incident, the victim was walking along the place when suspects suddenly appeared from behind and at gunpoint, forcibly took his money and other valuables.
After the heist, the victim was dragged inside the suspects’ tricycle and brought her to S. Tuano Street, police said.
Upon arrival at the place, the victim managed to escape and sought police assistance, resulting in the arest of Romasanta, who yielded a cal. .22 Magnum revolver with two live ammunition and two spent shells.
