2 pushers die in Bay clash

TWO suspected drug pushers were killed while a police officer was wounded in an armed encounter with  policemen during a buy-bust operation on District Road, Bgy. Dila, Bay, Laguna, yesterday morning.

A report to acting Laguna police director Senior Supt. Joel Pernito by Chief Insp. Marlon Calonge, Bay police chief, identified the slain suspects as Frederick Alano Fule, of Bgy. San Lucas Putol, San Pablo City, and his companion, Ryan Pulutan, 34, of Bgy. Lamot II, Calauan, Laguna. Both suspects died on the spot due to gunshots wound in their bodies.

Calonge said Pulutan was a former surrenderer.

The wounded police operative, identified as PO1 Jeremias Ramos, who was hit in the left arm, was rushed to Bay District Hospital for treatment.

The operatives were conducting an anti-illegal drug operation on District Road, Bgy. Dila, at 1:30 a.m. with Ramos, acting as poseur-buyer, transacted with the suspects riding a Maroon Kia Pride (TSG-882).

However, the suspects sensed they were dealing with a policeman so they pulled out their guns and fired at the latter, hitting him in the left arm.
The other police operatives retaliated fire, killing the two on the spot.
Police recovered from Fule’s possession a cellphone, several aluminum foil strips, P400 in different denominations, seven small plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and a cal. .45 pistol.
Recovered from Pulutan was a MyPhone, three small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu and a cal.  .38 revolver.
The supected shabu weighing 10 grams worth about P29,000 will be brought to PNP Crime Laboratory for drug examination.
