ALLEGEDLY owing to jealousy, a still unidentified man killed his girlfriend and then dumped her in between two parked vehicles in Plaza Lawton, Ermita, Manila, the other night.
The suspect, identified only through his alias as ‘Natoy,’ said to be in his mid-40s, burly and about 5’9” tall, escaped. The victim, Wheng Miranda, 33, of Quezon City, died on the spot.
PO3 Aldeen Legaspi of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident took place at around 7:30 p.m. near the Manila City Hall Engineering Office in Plaza Lawton on Arroceros St., Ermita, Manila.
Information gathered by the police showed that before the victim’s body was found, she and the suspect were having an argument. Moments later, the suspect punched the victim in the face so she fell to the ground.
The suspect was overheard by witnesses as shouting and accusing the victim of infidelity and then dragged her by the hair near the spot where her body was later found.
A witness, who only identified himself as ‘Rolly’, said he was with the victim from 10 a.m. up to 7 p.m. before she got killed.
He told police that he met Miranda last November 11 and that since then, they often met and had sex in exchange for which he would give her money.
On the day the victim died, Rolly saidshe had taken her to Lawton after spending many hours together earlier in the day, until the suspect arrived and the two began arguing.
Rolly said he left for fear of being dragged into the fight and when he returned sometime later, he saw people milling around in an area. When he checked, he was surprise to find the victim already dead.
Police said that the victim died of injuries in the head, after being hit with a hard object.
