Man held for gun, ammo, drugs

CAMP Gen. Malvar, Batangas -- An unemployed man was nabbed for illegal possession of a gun, ammunition and drugs in Bgy. Pallocan West, Batangas City, Thursday morning.

A report to acting Batangas police director Senior Supt Leopoldo Cabanag by city police head Supt. Barnard Danie V. Dasugo identified the arrested suspect as Joseph Noche Alvarez, alias Joseph, 26, single, of Bgy. Pallocan West, Batangas City.

Case officer SPO1 Richard C. Ante said that at 11:15 a.m. on December 1, elements of the Batangas City Police Station Anti-Illegal Drug Task Group, led by PO2 Eric Joseph A. delos Reyes, arrested the suspect after he was caught selling a transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.

Confiscated from the suspect was the buy-bust money and the unsealed transparent plastic sachet containing seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu and an unlicensed  cal. .45 pistol with magazine containing four live bullets.

The recovered pieces of evidence will be brought to Batangas Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for examination while the arrested suspect was subjected to drug testing.
   
The suspect was detained at the police lock-up cell facing charges for violation of Secs. 5 and 11, Art II of RA 9165 and RA 10591.
