KAYLEE Manns was superb again in delivering plays as BaliPure took third place honors with a 25-23, 25-19, 25-11 victory over University of Santo Tomas yesterday in the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference at the Philsports Arena.
The Water Defenders nabbed their second consecutive bronze medal this season by sweeping the Tigresses, 2-0.
Manns was instrumental in making BaliPure's attacking game possible by tossing in 56 excellent sets on top of eight points in the one hour, 24 minute match.
Kate Morrell, the Water Defenders other American guest player, led the way with 24 points and 18 digs while Dzi Gervacio added nine points.
Finishing fourth in the season, there is nothing to be ashamed of for UST as it is now in the final stretch of its preparations for UAAP Season 79.
EJ Laure led the way for the Tigresses with 14 points, including two blocks while Cherry Rondina contributed 10 points and 14 digs.
Meanwhile, Bureau of Customs skipper Alyssa Valdez took the conference MVP plum in the awarding ceremonies before the Game 2 of the Finals.
It was Valdez's third conference MVP award, counting the two the former Ateneo star won last season.
Pocari Sweat's American reinforcement Bre Mackie also shared the spotlight by winning the Best Foreign Player award.
Other awardees were Valdez (1st Best Outside Spiker), Laure (2nd Best Outside Spiker), BaliPure's Denden Lazaro (Best Libero), Pocari Sweat's Iris Tolenada (Best Setter), UST's Ria Meneses (1st Best Middle Blocker), Custom's Lilet Mabbayad (2nd Best Middle Blocker) and Pocari Sweat's Michelle Gumabao (Best Opposite Spiker).
