CUYAPO, Nueva Ecija -- The province’s number three most wanted person who is tagged as a member of a criminal group operating in Nueva Ecija and the Ilocos region was nabbed during a manhunt operation here last Friday.
Provincial police director Senior Supt. Manuel E. Cornel identified the arrested suspect as Darwin Villapa, married, jobless, of Bgy. Esmeralda, Balungao, Pangasinan.
Joint members of the Balungao municipal police, the Pangasinan provincial police and the Cuyapo police swooped down on the suspect’s lair at 8:30 a.m. and nabbed the suspect, who did not resist arrest.
His arrest was carried out by virtue of an arrest warrant for robbery issued by Judge Brigando P. Zaldivar with a recommended bail of P120,000 for his temporary liberty.
Based on police intelligence records, the suspect is a member of the Quinto robbery-hold-up crime group which is also involved in gun-for-hire and carnapping activities and which operates in different towns in the province and adjacent towns in Region 1.
Cornel said the arrested suspect is ranked number 3 in the top ten most wanted person of the Cuyapo police.
He said the suspect is now placed behind bars and will undergo tactical police interrogation.
