A 34-year-old woman was seriously wounded after she reportedly stabbed herself twice while having an argument with her live-in partner in Sta. Cruz, Manila, the other day.
Victim Annaliza Salengua, of 632 Mabolo St., Sta. Cruz, Manila, sustained two stab wouds in the chest.
Chief Insp. Michael Garcia, deputy station commander of Manila Police District-Station 3, said the incident took place at 2:30 a.m. on Raon Street, near the corner of Trinidad Street in Sta. Cruz.
The victim reportedly had a fight with her live-in partner, Julius Ramirez, 36, a tricycle driver, of 640 F. Trinidad St., Sta. Cruz, Manila.
While arguing, the victim was said to have taken a knife and stabbed herself once in the chest.
Ramirez saw what happened and rushed up to stop the victim. However, during the scuffle for possession of the knife, the victim again stabbed herself, albeit, accidentally.
Ramirez took the victim to the nearest hospital for treatment. She did not press charges against her live-in partner.
