Pedicab driver slain in shootout

A pedicab driver was killed after he allegedly fought off members of the Manila Police District (MPD) during a buy-bust operation in  Tondo, Manila, the other night.

Jefferson Falculan, 39, of 1398 Concha St., Tondo, Manila, was dead on arrival at the hospital where he was brought due to gunshot wounds in the body.
   
SPO4 Glenzor Vallejo, of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the operation took place at 8:45 p.m. and was carried out by elements of the MPD-Station 1 at the corner of Road 10 and Chesa Street in Tondo.
   
Following a buy-bust operation, the cops were about to arrest the suspect when the latter allegedly resisted and fired at the cops, prompting the latter to fire back, killing the suspect instantly.
   
A cal. .38 gun, two plastic sachets of shabu and  P520 in buy-bust money were recovered at the scene.
