Man poking gun at cop shot dead

A 35-year-old man was killed after he allegedly pointed a gun at a Manila policeman in Sta. Cruz, Manila, the other night.

The man, identified only through his alias as ‘Gilbert,’ aged 35 to 40 and about 5’2,” had a Chinese character and ‘Gibz’ is tattooed on his left shoulder.

SPO4 Glenzor Vallejo of the Manila Police District-Homicide Section said the incident took place at 11:20 p.m. in front of a warehouse located at 2822 Rizal Avenue in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Before the incident, a call was reportedly received by SPO4 Mardonio Abuna, desk officer of the MPD-Police Station 3, regarding a suspicious-looking man loitering at the corner of Avenida and Pampanga Street in Sta. Cruz while holding a gun.

Senior Insp. Anthony Sy responded to the scene and saw the said man. He was approaching the suspect when the latter reportedly pointed his gun at the cop, so the latter shot and killed him.
Recovered from the suspect was a cal. .38 gun, two sachets of shabu, a cellphone and P245.
