THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has issued a notice to airmen as Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon, Bicol spewed ash anew.
The notice was issued at 9 a.m. yesterday and takes effect until 9 a.m. today.
The CAAP warned commercial flights, with routes covering Bulusan, against flying near or above the volcano.
The notice came after a phreatic explosion or steam-driven eruption was reported to have occurred at 7:36 a.m. yesterday.
Mt. Bulusan spewed thick, grey smoke into the skies, which reached about a kilometer high.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology continues to monitor the situation to ensure that any adverse volcanic activity will not affect any nearby communities.
