PHILIPPINE Air Force, one of the founding members of Millennium Basketball League (MBL), is returning home.
To be known as the Jet Force, PAF will rejoin the MBL starting this month with Philippine Air Force commanding general Lt. General Edgar R. Fallorina, team manager Colonel Elpidio Talja and coach Sgt. Alvin Zuniga at the helm.
Air Force, which emerged as the 2014 AFP Little Olympics men’s basketball champion, will lean on veteran players Paulino Fernandez, Rolando Pascual and Wilfredo Casulla along with new recruits Rama Krishna Morales, Darwin Cordero, Raniel Jake Diwa, Roger Malig-On, Jerry Lumongsod, Reymark Pinto and Ranimark Tano.
“We're looking forward to playing in the MBL again. This is a good challenge to our team,” said Zuniga, who is best remembered for playing for the Davao Eagles and University of the East.
A UNTV Cup Fans Choice awardee, Zuniga also piloted Air Force to the title in an invitational tournament in Baguio City recently.
Assisting Zuniga on the bench are Jimmy Andaya, Ryan Tongio and Lexan Nariz.
Other members of the Jet Force are Ryan Tongio, Jay Dizon, Perfecto De Torres, Msg. Joseph Baronda, Melmar Bitong, Ramil Isla, Norberto Bandong, Marlon Noo, Carl Valdevilla, Elmer Cuasay, Mark Ollano, Nico Amparo, Romeo Almerol, Francis Regalado and Paulino Rebolls.
