AMA University brought down St. Clare College-Caloocan, 91-77, to move within a win of capturing the title in the 16th NAASCU junior basketball tournament at the RTU gym.

Handled by coach Mark Herrera, the Junior Titans took control early in the game and held off the Baby Saints’ repeated rallies to take the headstart in their best-of-three series.
   
Juan Carlo Garcia finished with a game-high 31 points and 12 assists to lead the Junior Titans.
   
Javines Serrano added 17 points, Karl Bautisa contributed 13, Kerby Escoto had 11 and Jayson Barde had 10.
   
Raymark Lumabas fired 19 points for St. Clare, followed by Archie Alejandro with 15 and Mark Christian Yu with 14.
   
In the women’s division, Enderun College defeated Rizal Technological University, 77-74, to gain a headstart in their own series.
   
The Lady Titans of former national player-turned-coach Haydee Ong relied on Ella Rodriguez’s 20 points and Mary Grace Calang’s 18 points to subdue the Lady Thunders.
   
Princess Manzanares added 12.
   
Kartois Marie Duazo and Jeremiah Yonzon paced RTU with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
