A PUBLIC elementary school in Manila suspend classes after receiving a bomb threat early Monday night.

It was learned from the Manila Police District (MPD)-Explosives and Ordnance Division (EOD) that the said bomb threat was received at around 6 p.m. by the Jose Rizal Elementary School in Tayuman, Tondo, Manila.
Special Education (SPED) teacher Irish Mendez reportedly got a text message from an unidentified sender, saying that a bomb would explode at the SPED building inside the said school.
Moments later, Mendez received another text message, saying her house would be bombed next.
Mendez reported the matter to the school administration and to police authorities, who sent a team to verify the report.
Meantime, school authorities suspended classes and sent their students and teachers home.
At around 9 a.m. yesterday, the said school was cleared by bomb experts who scoured the whole campus and found nothing.
