Batangas trader gunned down

A businessman was riddled with bullets by unidentified suspects at 1:40 p.m. the other day in Ibaan, Batangas.

The victim, Romano Mendez Hernandez, 45, married, of Bgy. Lapu-Lapu, Ibaan, was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by an attending physician.
   
The victim was standing in the said area when two unidentified suspects riding in a gray car without license plates arrived. One of the riders riddled the victim with bullets and then fled.
   
Recovered at the crime scene were 16 empty shells and three slugs for cal. .45 pistol. 
   
Meanwhile, farmer Antonio Maquiling Bindol, of Bgy. Poblacion 7, Tanauan City, was found dead on Tuesday with gunshot wounds in Bgy. Bagumbayan.

City police chief Supt. Robert R. Baesa said a son of the victim positively identified the victim as his father.
