Couple held for P200-K shabu, gun

A living-in couple were nabbed by authorities for possession of P200,000 worth of illegal drugs and firearms during a raid on their house in Pasig City yesterday morning.

Live-in partners Aaron Garrido, 36, and Monette Abedoza, 45, were nabbed at Unit 503, 5th Floor, 9B MHR, Karangalan Village, Bgy. Manggahan, by a team from Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (SAIDSOTG) headed by Chief Insp. Renato Castillo.

The arrest of the couple were based on the search warrant issued by Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 152 for drug pushing.

The operation was also based on the information from residents of Bgy. Manggahan regardingthe  rampant illegal drugs trade in the area involving the suspects.

Armed with a warrant, a composite team from SAIDSOTG and Police Community Precinct  (PCP-7), led by PO2 Ruben Damasco and PO1 Edward Laplano, swooped down on the house of the suspects at 3 a.m.
When the raiding team arrived, Garrido was caught watching a DVD porn movie while his partner was sleeping in their bedroom.
Police recovered plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P200,000 and a cal. 9mm pistol with one magazine loaded with seven live ammunition and a magazine for cal. .45 pistol loaded with three live ammunition.
Investigators said the couple’s house had been visited by authorities during “Oplan Tokhang”.
However, police received an information that the couple returned to their usual business of selling illegal drugs.
The couple are now detained, facing charges of violation of RA 10591 or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
