raided a suspected drug den and arrested three notorious drug pushers and a gay couple in continuous anti-illegal drugs operations of the Marikina police on Thursday.
In a report submitted to Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief upt. Romulo Sapitula, Senior Supt. Lorenzo Holanday Jr., Marikina police chief, identified the suspects as Edmar Jarquio, alias Edmar, 28, Samnel Bantolinao, 37, and Relly Espabilla, 30, all of Balubad Settlement, Phase II, Bgy. Nangka.
Holanday said the operation was conducted after a week of surveillance by Marikina police on information about the continuous drug-peddling activities of Edmar Jarquio, using his house as drug den.
A team from Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (SAIDSOTG), headed by Senior Insp. Jerry Flores, and armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Anjanette N. de Leon-Ortille, of Marikina Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 156, swooped down on Lot 4, Balubad Street at around 10:15 p.m.
When the raiding team arrived, the suspects were caught in the act of using shabu.
Recovered from them were sachets containing suspected shabu and drug paraphenalia.
Holanday said the suspects openly sell drugs in the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, gay couple John Lennon Gulapao and Danilo de Leon, alias Danica, were caught during a buy-bust operation at 7:27 p.m. on J.P. Rizal St., Lamuan, Bgy. Malanday.
A policeman posing as buyer was able to buy illegal drugs from the gay couple worth P500. When they handed the illegal drugs, they were nabbed by the officers.
Recovered from the suspects were eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu, cellphone and Mio motorcycle used in their illegal drug trade.
The suspects were detained at Marikina police detention cell, facing charges of violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
