BATANGAS City -- A 47-year-old engineer wanted for estafa was arrested by police operatives during the service of a warrant of arrest in Bgy. Bolbok, here, the other day.
Acting Batangas provincial police director Senior Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag identified the suspect as Engr. Gerry Delgado Fondevilla, 47, married, of Bgy. Kumintang Ilaya, Batangas City.
Cabanag said that at 5:30 p.m. on August 30, the accused was arrested by the Batangas City Police Station Warrant Section, led by SPO2 Tadeo Loyola de Chavez, under the direct supervision of Supt. Barnard Danie Dasugo, OIC, in Bgy. Bolbok by virtue of a warrant for estafa issued on April 18, 2016 by Judge Emily Reyes Aliñ0-Geluz, of RTC Branch 255 of Las Piñas City.
Based on the report, in April 2013 in Las Piñas City, the accused took and received in trust from one Sophia Manalo cash money amounting to P1,200,000 for the renovation of the complainant’s house.
Manalo said the engineer agreed that he will complete the renovation of the house on the promised date.
The accused, however, failed to complete the house renovation at the target date. He also feloniously defrauded the victim. Despite repeated demands, he failed to return the said amount.
The suspect posted bail for his temporary liberty, said Dasugo.
