Employee dies in sleepover at pal’s home

A PART-TIME employee died during a sleep-over in a friend’s house in Sta. Mesa, Manila, the other day.

Jose Jamir Corpuz, 55, a part-time employee of the SG Escolar Training Center and residing at 4th Avenue, Cubao, Quezon City, was found dead at around 5:30 a.m. inside the home of his friend and co-worker, identified as Ronaldo Rodriguez, of 4844 Mangga Avenue, Sta. Mesa, Manila.
   
Prober Det. Jonathan Bautista of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Crimes Against Persons Investigation Section (CAPIS) reported that before being found dead, the victim slept over at the house of Rodriguez after a long day.
   
Rodriguez told the police that the victim asked for a glass of water at around 2 a.m. while complaining that he was not feeling well.
   
Moments later, the two slept but when Rodriguez awoke at around 5:30 a.m., he was surprised to find the victim already dead.
