DILG Secretary Ismael “Mike” Sueno said suspected Iloilo drug lord Melvin Odicta surfaced at Camp Crame yesterday and vowed to cooperate with the Philippine National Police in the ongoing anti-drug drive.
Odicta and his wife wanted to talk with PNP chief Director General Ronald “Bato” M. dela Rosa but failed since the top cop is in Bacolod City.
Odicta is in the watchlist of police authorities since the early 90s although police have failed to pin him down.
Sueno said Odicta was once arrested for marijuana possession in 1991. The suspect is now being questioned by the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group headed by Chief Supt. Roel B. Obusan.
Odicta’s men were recently accused of storming a radio station in Iloilo City and manhandling its staff for their critical commentaries on him.
