SIX suspected drug personalities were killed while two others, including a sexagenarian woman, was wounded in separate shooting incidents Thursday and before dawn yesterday in Caloocan and Valenzuela cities.
Gilbert Manansala, 41, of 166 P. Zamora St., Caloocan City, was walking along a private alley in Bgy. 19 at around 12:20 a.m. when he noticed four men, all wearing bonnets and face masks, following him.
The victim decided to run but the suspects gave chase until he was cornered on Libis Nadurata St. in Bgy. 20 where he was shot repeatedly by the suspects. Police recovered 10 empty shells and four deformed bullets for cal. .45 pistol at the crime scene.
At 6:40 a.m., the body of Jovilyn Micua was discovered inside her house at Block 8, Lot 9, Minarchi St., LD Subdivision, Caloocan City, with a visible gunshot wound in the head. One empty shell and a slug for undetermined caliber of firearm were recovered at the crime scene.
In Bgy. 176, Bagong Silang, Rizalino Ojas, 40, was inside his house in Phase 9, Package 2, Unit 5, Apartment 40, Gawad Kalinga Staging Area, when four men, all wearing bonnets and face masks, forcibly barged in and shot the victim several times.
The victim’s relative rushed him to Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Ojas’ stepdaughter Mary Irish Pantaleon admitted to police that the victim was using illegal drugs.
In Bgy. 178, Camarin, suspected drug peddler Rolly Perlado, 30, of 11036 Phase 6, Purok 4, Package 5, was playing billiards with his friends in Purok 4 when eight men on board four motorcycles arrived at 11:45 p.m.
Four back riders, wearing bonnets and face masks, alighted and approached Perlado then shot him at close range in the head, killing him instantly. Residents in the area told police that the victim was involved in illegal drugs.
Earlier at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, Bernardo Morales, 42, an alleged drug pusher in Bagong Barrio, was standing at the corner of Republica and Reparo Sts. at the boundary of Bgys. 148 and 149 when two RIT suspects peppered him with bullets.
Corazon Lintag, 64, housewife, of 248 Ilo-Ilo St., Bagong Barrio, was hit by a stray bullet. The two were rushed to Manila Central University (MCU) hospital where Morales succumbed to a bullet wound in the body while Lintag was treated for a bullet wound in the right thigh.
In Valenzuela City, Marlon de Ocampo, 37, was inside his house at 202 Dama de Noche St. corner Pio Valenzuela St., Bgy. Marulas, when four armed men, wearing face masks barged in at 8 p.m. and shot him repeatedly in the body.
Though wounded, the victim managed to jump out of the window, prompting the suspects to escape on their motorcycles.
The victim’s live-in partner, Rose Ann Santos, rushed the victim to Valenzuela Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival
At 1:15 a.m., Michael Ray San Miguel De Guzman, 31, of 1041 Lorex St., Gen. T. De Leon, was standing near the Tanada Market when two motorcycle-riding men, both wearing full-face helmets, stopped in front of him then shot him repeatedly.
The wounded victim managed to run inside his house and was later rushed to Valenzuela Medical Center.
