A LABORER was wounded after being stabbed by a drinking mate with whom he had an altercation in Sta. Ana, Manila, the other day.
Joseph Somoo, a construction worker, of 406 Tanagan Street, Punta, Sta. Ana, remains in a hospital where he was treated for a stab wound in the chest.
The suspect, identified as ‘Jessie Demonyo’, also a construction worker and residing at Water Lily Street in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila, escaped.
Supt. Roberto Domingo, station commander of the Manila Police District (MPD)-Station 6, said the crime took place at around 1:30 p.m. in the home of one alias Renato on Jasmin Street in Punta, Sta. Ana.
Witness Jessie Ferry, 54, also a construction worker, told police that they were drinking when the suspect suddenly joined them.
After downing a few bottles, the suspect and the victim had an altercation until they were pacified and the victim decided to go home.
The suspect, however, followed him and then stabbed him.
Though wounded, the victim managed to go home and seek help from his relatives who then took him to the nearest hospital.
