SEVEN suspected drug users, including three women, were arrested by police during “Oplan Tokhang” conducted by joint elements of Station Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group (SAIDSOTG) and Police Community Precinct (PCP) 5 before dawn yesterday in Malabon City.
SAIDSOTG head Chief Insp. Carlos Dilag identified the arrested suspects as Mary Jane Cular, 30, of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan; Maria Cristina Flores, 31, of Bldg. 13, Unit 67, Vitas, Tondo, Manila; Anabel Gilbuena, 36, Jaypee Pangilinan, 32, Roel Herbosada, 39, Roderick Sanchez, 53, and George Co, 57, all of 34 A. Bonifacio St., Bgy. Flores, Malabon City.
Dilag said a team from PCP-5 and SAIDSOTG operatives, led by PO3 Rommel Abarro, conducted Oplan Tokhang at around 11:45 a.m. on A. Bonifacio St., Bgy. Flores, after receiving information that the house of Pangilinan was being used as drug den.
When operatives swooped down on the area, they caught the suspects having a pot session.
Abarro said a plastic sachet containing suspected shabu and two plastic sachets with residue of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia were recovered in the area.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and Section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia), Article II of RA 8165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office.
