THREE notorious shabu dealers in Tacloban City are now in jail after being arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in an entrapment operation last Monday, PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña announced yesterday.
The official identified the suspects as Norman Abiertas, Dale Sarcilla, 34, and Rex Simborio, 37.
Lapeña said members of the PDEA Regional Office 8 under Director Edgar Jubay, with the support of the Tacloban City police, arrested the three after they conspired to sell shabu to an undercover officer in Bgy. 77, Marasbaras, Tacloban City.
Confiscated from the three were two transparent plastic sachets containing about a gram of shabu, two mobile phones, assorted drug paraphernalia and a multi-cab (AGA-7137).
Officers are still tracking down a companion of the three, identified as Regan Clarin, who escaped after sensing the sting.
The suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), in relation to Section 26 (conspiracy to sell), Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) and Section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
