THE Philippine Army will boot out four soldiers who tested positive for illegal drugs in a random test conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
This was confirmed by Philippine Army spokesman Colonel Benjamin Hao.
Hao however refused to disclose the names of the staff sergeant and three corporals who tested positive in their confirmatory test.
“Right now they are being processed for discharge (from service). We will announce their names after they have been processed,” he said.
Last July 5 a total of 2,500 soldiers from the Philippine Army assigned at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City underwent a random drug testing.
Army Chief Lt. General Eduardo Ano and his officials led their men in taking the drug test.
Some 13 soldiers tested positive and four were later confirmed to be drug users.
“We will get rid of all drug users in the organization. They have no place in our organization. This is the statement of the commanding general of the Army,” Hao said.
