EVEN after 18 years in showbusiness, Rufa Mae Quinto has not lost her passion in moving forward and exploring new things.
She is still one of the busiest stars around with two shows on GMA7, the long-running “Showbiz Central” and “Bubble Gang.” She was also on the highly successful “Daldalita” which wrapped a few days ago and guest appearances in the “Kusina Master” and the “Manny Many Prizes." New offers just continue to pour in.
The year promises to be big for the award-winning comedienne as she is set to play lead in an upcoming comedy-action film tentatively titled “Angelina Jolly.” Recall that last year, Rufa Mae headlined “Temptation Island” along with Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff.
“Even though I’ve done solo movies in the past, I am still willing to share topbilling with other stars because I enjoy working with others. But, yes, there comes a time when you heed a certain call to do a solo movie and that time is now,” said she whose most memorable solo movies to date are “Gloria, Gloria Labandera,” “Booba” and “Super B.”
Aside from her showbiz commitments, Rufa Mae also runs Brownsugar Productions International, a one-stop shop that offers services in productions, photography, creatives, producing TV shows and movies, advertising, and talent management as well as hosting jobs.
“Hands-on na hands-on ako sa pagpapatakbo ng company together with my business partners,” said she who still endorses Calayan Surgicentre and Cathy Valencia Skin and Body Center.
It’s not all work for the vixen. Before she jumps into her new projects in 2012, Rufa Mae plans to take a vacation with friends, take a short course in the culinary arts and clock in more time for her Pilates class.
“Syempre, kelangan ko din mag-recharge para pagbalik ko sa trabaho ay to the highest level pa rin,” she said.
