When Cesar Montano guested in ABS-CBN’s The Buzz last Sunday, guess who was tasked to interview him?

Charlene Gonzales, that’s who.

Many years back, when both of them were not yet married, napabalitang lumigaw si Cesar kay Charlene.

Now, of course, married na si Cesar, actually for 12 years in March, to Sunshine Cruz. Si Charlene naman ay kasal na kay Aga Muhlach at mommy to twins Atasha and Andres.

In any case, during the interview, Charlene asked Cesar a delicate question, which Cesar has never discussed either in print or on tv. It was regarding his elder son Angelo, who, we all know, took his own life two years ago.

When it happened, based on newspaper and tabloid report, nasa Bohol sina Cesar at Sunshine dahil nangangampanya sila. Cesar, at that time, was running for the post of governor in his home province.

The incident happened in his then newly-built house in a plush subdivision in Quezon City. Kalilipat pa lamang nilang mag-anak sa bagong tahanan.

Charlene’s question: How Cesar was able to cope with his son’s loss and what lesson he can shared to parents who may have suffered the same fate?

Ani Cesar, natural lang na dinamdam niya nang labis ang nangyari sa anak, at kung maaari, ayaw niya itong mapag-usapan. He, likewise realized, he added na more than just looking after his constituents welfare, mas higit na dapat ngayon mahalaga, lalo’t sa isang ama is looking after his children.

Cesar was in The Buzz to promote his movie Hitman, which he co-produced with Viva Films.

Viva Films’s big boss Vic del Rosario, is now Cesar’s talent manager.

With Cesar in Hitman, aside from Phillip Salvador, Mark Herras and Sam Pinto, is Cesar’s son to former actress Teresa Loyzaga, si Diego.

Diego, in Hitman, according to Cesar uses the screen name Diego Montano, dating Diego Loyzaga ang apelyidong ginagamit ni Diego for his screen name.
