DON’T think it’s rest day now for John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin just because nagbukas na today sa mga sinehan nationwide ang kanilang first film together, Unofficially Yours.

They are still as busy for the movie.

For one, John Lloyd and Angel are leaving for Los Angeles, California, for its premiere on February 24.

The day before the premiere of the movie in two theaters in Megamall last Tuesday, yes, yesterday, they were in Davao City.

For the past few days, we all know that they’ve been promoting Unofficially Yours on tv, radio and mall tours aside from attending its presscon.

Hindi ba sila napapagod?

“Well, we do,” sagot ni Angel. “But inspired kami with what we are doing, dahil ang ganda nga ng feedback about the movie.”

The film, directed by Cathy Garcia Molina and produced by Star Cinema, also marks the screen comeback of now tv director and producer Edgar Mortiz.

A former matinee idol, best known as the other half of the Bot-Vi (for Batangas Governor Vilma Santos) loveteam, he plays dad to Angel in Unofficially Yours.

Speaking of matinee idol, Mario Maurer, Thai superstar and matinee idol, is coming to town and will stay in the country for the entire month of April (well, if not more).

Mario will finally start shooting for Suddenly It’s Magic, where he will have Erich Gonzales for his leading lady.

To be directed by Rory Quintos and produced pa rin ng Star Cinema, Suddenly It’s Magic will be shown not only in the country but all over Asia, including Indonesia, where Mario is an actor to reckon with.

Mario and Erich first met when he came over to sign his contract with Star Cinema for the movie.

That was also the time when he met Direk Rory in person.

Naging aware ang Filipino fans kay Mario when one of his Asian novels, Crazy Thing Called Love, was serialized on ABS-CBN in 2011.

Actually, ABS-CBN had to reshow the teleserye due to insistent public demand, young viewers, especially.

Inspiring ang kuwento ni Mario kung paano siya nagsimula sa showbiz. Pumila raw siya for hours just to submit to an audition para maging artista.

His debut film, Love of Siam, immediately catapulted him to stardom.

Iba naman ang naging daan para mapasok ni Erich ang showbiz. Born and raised in Davao City, she said dream niya talaga ang maging artista.

Thus, she joined the Star Circle Quest ng Star Magic, then known as Talent Center, which was in search of new faces na ibi-build-up for stardom.

Erich won the grand prize and the rest, wika nga, is history.

Currently, she plays the title role in the much-followed afternoon series, Maria la del Barrio, where she is teamed up with favorite ka-loveteam, Enchong Dee.

Unlike Mario, who doesn’t deny na may girlfriend  siya back in Thailand na Gubgib Leuangthai (repeat, Gubgib Leuangthai) ang name, Erich swears na loveless siya at ’di pa niya nararanasan ang ma-in-love.

Mario also revealed na mag-on na sila ng kanyang girlfriend since they were both 15 years old.

They are now 23.
