REGINE Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid were rehearsing for their Valentine concert, “Mr. & Mrs. A,” when we dropped by.    From the looks of it, it’ll truly be a night to remember as they have prepared some great production numbers that will surely delight their audience on Tuesday night at the Big Dome. Their opening number is Usher’s “Without You” along with “Moves Like Jagger.”  Their baby boy, Nate, will also make a special appearance so watch out for him.

“Kailangan kasi siyang padedehin,” says Regine. “’Pag feeding bottle  ang binibigay sa kanya, ayaw niya kaya baka magpadede ako on stage.

First time may magpapadede habang nagko-concert. Ha-ha-ha!” When you watch the show at Araneta, the first thing you’ll notice is how big the Songbird’s boobies have grown. “’Pag may contest nga ng palakihan, winner na ako. 45 inches na 'yan ngayon, and it’s still growing, lalo na ’pag puno na ng milk kaya kailangan, laging dumedede si Nate para mabawasan. The women in our family, lumalaki talaga ang boobs ‘pag nanganak. Lahat ng sisters ko, ganu’n.” (They really show when we saw Regine on Party Pilipinas yesterday singing the late Whitney Houston songs.--Ed.)

The show is already sold out and Araneta Coliseum had to add chairs and SRO tickets. “Nag-add na rin ng isang wing to accommodate ’yung mga gusto pang bumili ng tickets. Nakakatuwa naman ang reception. Problema lang ngayon how to accommodate them all. Mukhang magkakaroon ng repeat in April in time for my birthday dahil marami pang gustong manood.”

So when will she be doing another regular show? “I need to lose more weight. If ever, I want to do hosting or a sitcom na once a week lang.

Ayoko ng soap as it would take too much of my time, e may pinapadede akong anak. ‘Yung movies nga na naiwan ko, ‘Mrs. Recto’ and the one with Aga Muhlach, ang payat ko pa roon so I need to get back my figure then to resume shooting.”

Aside from Kyla, Vice Ganda, and so many other guests, we heard they have another surprise guest in David Archuleta. “Ay, bawal daw sabihin. Abangan n‘yo na lang.”

HAYDEN DOES DAMAGE CONTROL

DR. Vicki Belo's inamorato, Hayden Kho, has just announced that he’s making a showbiz comeback. Now, it seems that things have gone sour between them again. Someone told Dr. Belo that her partner was seen canoodling with Nancy Castiliogne (we thought she already changed her name to Nancy Jane) in a bar at The Fort. There were other sightings of them together and this caused Dr. Belo to be terribly jealous. She twitted Nancy: “You can now openly date Hayden. You have my blessings.

“Hope you’ll both be happy.”

Hayden tried to do damage  control right away, considering that Nancy has two kids with her non-showbiz partner.

He also twitted: “I’d like to appeal to everyone to please hold your judgment. There has been a misunderstanding and it’s gone out of proportion. Before things go out of hand: Vicki and I are just having a misunderstanding. Don't make conclusions. There's NO infidelity issue here. I have already apologized to Nancy for getting her name dragged into this minor bump in my relationship w/ Vicki.”

Folks are sure Vicki will forgive Hayden once again, just like what she did after his sex video with Katrina Halili and other girls were uploaded on the net. One self appointed pundit says: “She’ll only drop him kapag nakakita na siya ng someone who’s handsomer and hunkier than him.”

RICHARD BRINGS NEW GF AT DAD'S BIRTHDAY

WE had a great time at the 70th birthday celebration of Eddie Gutierrez that coincided with the blessing of their newly renovated home in Derby St., White Plains last Saturday night. Annabelle Rama toured us around and we’re very much impressed at how tastefully the whole place is designed, including the elevated swimming pool. All their kids were there, including Ramon Christopher and mom Pilita Corrales. But Ruffa was still asleep, suffering from jetlag as she just returned from South America. Her two daughters, Lorin and Venice, though, entertained the guests with a sprightly song and dance number.

Among the other guests were Susan Roces and Helen Gamboa, Eddie’s co-stars in “Walang Hanggan,”  Sen. Tito Sotto, Ricky Davao (who’ll meg Richard Gutierrez’ new drama), Gov. Chavit Singson, Annabelle’s talents Bubbles Paraiso and TJ Trinidad, Malou Choa Fagar, Shirley Kuan, and many more. Richard’s new squeeze, a tall and beautiful dusky beauty, was with him, but he didn’t get to introduce her to the writers who were there.

We ask Eddie how it feels to be 70. “I still feel like I’m 39,” he beams. What are the highlights of his 70 years? “Definitely, marrying Annabelle is one of them,” he replies, making Annabelle smile widely, “and seeing my kids also join showbiz, like Tonton, Monching, Ruffa, Richard and all of them. Joining Sampaguita Pictures and staying with them from 1958 to 1968 is another highlight as I learned so much from it. Then winning best supporting and best actor awards for ‘Uubusin Ko ang Lahi Mo’ and ‘Ikaw Pa Lang ang Minahal.’ But an actor is never satisfied with his work. You always want to do more, keep on learning.

"My idol is Clint Eastwood. At 80, he’s still very productive, ‘di ba? But my number one idol is Elvis Presley and meeting him in person in the 70s was one of the biggest highlights in my life. I was shooting ‘Bontoc’ in Baguio with FPJ when I got a call that he passed away.

"Naiyak ako.”

JEAN ADMITS DOUBTS ABOUT ALWYN

JEAN Garcia has played a lot of villain roles before but she considers her role as the witch Esmeralda in “Alice Bungisngis and Her Magic Walis” as one of the hardest she ever played. “Naging puno kasi ako rito kaya isa akong babaeng tuod,” she said. “Ang hirap, kasi ang bigat noong tree-like props na pinasusuot sa akin. Mainit na, ‘di ka pa makagalaw masyado. Dusa. But it’s worth it kasi ang taas agad ng ratings ng show namin. This week, dahil kay Bea Binene as Alice, unti-unting babalik ang ganda at kapangyarihan ko. Si Bea naman, lumaking mabait na bata sa bahay ampunan pero inaapi ng ibang bata roon led by Rita Iringan.”

Her daughter Jennica is now also part of a new show, “My Beloved.”  “At last, nagka-show uli siya. Inip na inip na nga ‘yan ng walang ginagawa.

I’m proud of her kasi, at 22, she’s very responsible. Nag-volunteer siya to help pag-aralin ang brother niya, Kotaro, who’s now 9 years old and very attached to her. Maayos ang mga diskarte niya sa buhay kaya bilib ako sa kanya.”

How come there’s a report she’s not happy with Jen’s boyfriend, Alwyn Uytingco? “I admit noong una, siyempre, cautious ako. Bilang magulang, gusto mo munang masiguro kung okay ba talaga 'yung boyfriend ng anak mo. Normal lang naman 'yun. Pero nang mas makilala ko na si Alwyn, I realized mabait siyang bata. Maayos at maalaga sa anak ko, so I have no objections. Kontrabida lang ako sa TV, but not sa tunay na buhay as I can see happy silang dalawa.”

FAR EXPENSIVE THAN THE ORIGINAL

TV5’S newest soap will start tonight after “Wiltime Bigtime” and we hope it’ll rate higher than their past shows like “Sa Ngalan ng Ina” and “Glamorosa” that never went beyond 2 plus percent in the ratings.

Archangel Media, its producer, is spending so much for the production.

They tape it at Leviste Farm in Batangas and they pay P75,000 a day plus additional cost for the use of the horses there. It uses other locations and has a huge cast so we hope it’ll also have more advertisers so that it can earn some revenue. We remember when TAPE, Inc. was producing this for GMA7, they were doing it at a minimal cost, taping only at Valley Golf in Antipolo. But it ran for several years starring Michael de Mesa and Tirso Cruz III, now played by JC De Vera and Oyo Sotto. With Joel Lamangan helming it, we have no doubt “Valiente” is worthseeing, what with Nadine Samonte, Niña Jose, Michael de Mesa (who was summoned back home from the U.S. just for this show), Mark Gil, Jacklyn Jose, Gina Alajar, Cherry Pie Picache and Ciara Sotto also in the cast.
