REMEMBER Jennifer Sevilla, formerly a child actress, who, when she grew up, became a Seiko baby?

Well, Jennifer, together with Rita Avila, were two of the ‘pambato’ actresses ng Seiko Films na pag-aari ng noo’y sobrang agresibong film producer na si Robbie Tan.

Now married to a Chinese businessman, Jennifer, according to Rita, with whom colleague Mario Bautista and I had a long conversation last Thursday afternoon, is pregnant anew with her second baby.

Jennifer, in a previous interview we had with her, told us that she manages her own store. She sells nga wigs for both women and children of all kinds, color and make, sa kanyang store sa Binondo.

During our talk with Rita, she had husband, Direk Erick Santos with her.

Si Direk Eric ang kasalukuyang director ng pambatang series on ABS CBN, E-Boy, topbilled by child actor Bugoy Cariño.

Rita and Erick have been married for nine years. Pero, magkakilala na raw at malapit sa isa’t isa, five years sila bago nagpakasal.

Meanwhile, nasa cast naman si Rita ng high-rating series na Walang Hanggan, also on ABS CBN. In the series, she plays wife to Richard Gomez at mga anak naman nila sina Paulo Avelino at Melissa Ricks.

Kasama niya sa series sina Susan Roces, Helen Gamboa, Joel Torre, Eddie Gutierrez at ang young loveteam na sina Coco Martin at Julia Montes.

According to Rita, she had no choice but to hand her resignation to the ‘powers’ behind Walang Hanggan.

Health problem, according to Rita, ang dahilan why she had to give up the series. Lately daw kasi, she is not feeling so well at natatakot siyang, dahil sa kanyang karamdaman, dumating ang pagkakataong maging cause of delay siya ng taping for the series, dahil kailangan niyang mag-absent.

Right now daw, nag-a-undergo siya ng therapy for excessive treatment in her neck and upper back. Na cause daw kung bakit madalas siyang makaramdam ng matinding sakit sa kanyang ulo at balikat.

The ‘powers’ upon receiving Rita’s resignation letter called on her for a meeting. And they agreed to give her time to take a break. Pero, ’di pa rin ito nangangahulugang “mape-phase” out na ng tuluyan ang kanyang importanteng role sa series. May ilan pang highlights na nakalaan sa kanya.

Ang ginawa ng ‘powers’ was to compromise with Rita regarding her schedule. Everytime she thinks ok siyang magtrabaho, then and there only will they request her to attend to her taping.

Rita said she has considered the options, since napakaganda nga namang project ng Walang Hanggan, kung basta-basta na lamang niya itong ‘pakakawalan.’

Did you know na kung nabuhay pala sana ang anak nina Rita at Direk Erick na sinawing palad na mamatay right after ipinanganak ng aktres ang bata, he would have turned five years old this year?

Ganunpaman daw, ’di pa rin nawawalan ng pag-asa ang mag-asawa na bibiyayaan sila ng Diyos ng munting anghel. As it is daw, according to Rita’s obstetrician, nagpa-function pa naman ang kanyang ovary. Kaya, anytime, puwede uli siyang magbuntis.

“But that will have to be God’s decision,” ani Rita. “Kaya, Erick and I keep praying. They will be done.”
