Luis happy with Jennylyn

GUESS what? Batangas Governor Vilma Santos’ movie with Kim Chiu, The Healing, is a reunion of sorts for her and Mark Gil, her leading man sa pelikulang Miss X, filmed in its entirety in Amsterdam.

We learned this from Gov.

Since Ms. X, directed by Gil Portes for Seven Star Productions, is about women in the red light district ng Amsterdam, Gov. Vi naturally played a role as one of them.

Mark naman was the young Filipino, isang OFW (overseas Filipino worker), who fell in love with her.         He was only 17 at that time.

Don’t look now, but women in the red light district   were not looked down upon by Amsterdam residents.

Bagama’t they were, wika nga, women for hire, legal yata (yata, ha) ang ganitong hanapbuhay doon.

In any case, the film was a blockbuster when it was shown dito sa Pilipinas.

As for Gov. Vi, Ms. X only added more to her prestige and popularity as an actress.

In a talk we had with her sa blessing ng bagong hotel-resort ni Mother Lily Monteverde sa Taal, Batangas, binanggit ni Gov. Vi na on their first shooting day ni Mark for The Healing, napag-usapan nila ang tungkol sa kanilang karanasan sa Ms. X.

Since nag-celebrate siya ng 26th birthday sa set ng nasabing pelikula, Direk Gil treated them to a trip to Paris — by train.

They also took the opportunity daw na tumuloy ng Rome para mapasok ang Basilica of St. Peter.

In The Healing, which Chito Roño directs, Gov. Vi   plays stepmom to Kim, who is the daughter of Mark, her husband, by estranged wife Carmi Martin.

Pagsama-samahin ba naman sa grupo ang the likes nina Manay Ichu Maceda and younger sister Betchay Nakpil, Dolor Guevarra, Shirley Kuan, Ronald Constantino, Fran-cis Simeon, Len Llanes, Chit at Ethel Ramos, among others?

In any case, marami man ang napag-usapan, mostly, of course, off the record, ang mga ito ay mananatili as such.

Unless puwede nang i-divulge ang items that were discussed.

Tulad ng nalaman namin na Gov. Vi read almost all of the entertainment section, both sa broadsheets at tabloids daily.

“I allot,” aniya, “less than P200 a day para pambili ng mga babasahin.”
