WELL, at least, Jewel Mische has lost the “girlfriend sa dilim” tag, a reference given to her when she was still the girlfriend of you know who.

Kailangan pa ba namang banggitin ang pangalan ng former bf ni Jewel?

Ngayon, maliwanag nang siya ang current love ni Jason Abalos. At take note, ipinagmamalaki ni Jason si Jewel as a girlfriend.

Parehong busy sina Jason at Jewel. He plays leading man to Maja Salvador, along with Patrick Garcia, in the new series Lumayo Ka Man sa Akin.

Si Jewel naman plays semi-kontrabida to Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee in Maria la del Barrio.

Kung nanood kayo ng concert ni Anne Curtis sa Smart Araneta Coliseum last Saturday, masasabi n’yong napakahaba pala talaga ng buhok ni Angelica Panganiban.

Ganito ang kuwento. After ng number nina Anne, Cristine Reyes at Derek Ramsay, the two girls engaged Derek in a tete-a-tete, kumbaga.

In the course of their talk, tinanong nila kung sino sa kanila, halimbawa, ang pipiliin ni Derek sa tunay na buhay granting na walang Erwan Heussaff si Anne,  Rayver Cruz si Cristine at si Angelica.

After much hesitation, Derek daw replied: “Ang hirap namang tanong ’yan. Well, siguro, I’d choose pa rin Angel.”

Wow, Angelica, take a bow!

In previous interviews with Angel and Derek, they admitted that their relationship is not at all smooth sailing. Lalo na noong bago pa lamang sila. They went through a lot of adjustments considering na magkaiba ang background nila.

Derek grew up abroad. His family is well off. In Angel’s case, bagama’t ’di siya bumitiw in improving herself (personally and intellectually — she reads books just like Bea Alonzo), she practically spent her growing up years sa showbiz.

Angel did her first movie at age nine, The Antipolo Massacre, where she played the daughter of Liezl Martinez who witnesses her mom and the rest of her family’s murder.

Directed by Carlo J. Caparas for his and wife Donna Villa’s Golden Lions Film Productions, it starred Cesar Montano and Dawn Zulueta.

This was followed by The Lipa Massacre, where Angel played Vilma Santos and Joel Torre’s daughter. The film gave Angel her first FAMAS best child actress trophy.

It was when ABS-CBN signed her up to a contract that Angel’s ‘star,’ wika nga, shone brighter.

Now, there’s no doubt na isa siya sa mga puwedeng ituring na pambato ng Star Magic. Bale ba, versatile siya — puwede sa drama at sa comedy.

Proof of this is her ongoing gag show, Banana Split, with John Prats, Jayson Gainza, Melai Cantiveros, Jason Francisco at ang nagbabalik na si Zanjoe Marudo.

Banana Split is on its third year.
