MORE often than not, we are amused with the jokes of Jojo Alejar in his after midnight show on TV5. In some instances, an illustration board is used to decipher a long word that would explain the joke.
In a recent episode, his joke was aimed at a certain Kapamilya actor involved in a controversial break-up.
A poker faced Jojo then asked whether it is true that the actor whose gender is being questioned auditioned to be the double of Hollywood actress Rachel Weiz who is in town filming “The Bourne Legacy.” He even mentioned the name of the actor.
Is he running out of jokes?
BILLY TO RECLAIM PAST GLORY
ANOTHER good host, excellent singer and dancer as well is bidding local fans goodbye. Billy Crawford is leaving very soon for Europe to reclaim past glory.
Billy succeeded to make a name for himself as a hip hop artist in certain parts of Europe a few years back. It was interrupted when he came back to host “Pinoy Dream Academy” and later on “Showtime.” He also became an endorser of Swatch and Belo Medical Group. And he found true love in singer-host, Nikki Gil.
He has been there before and knows his way around. It shouldn't be difficult for Billy to attain further international success. We wish him luck. At the same time we will miss his camaraderie with co-host Luis Manzano.
MAD ABOUT UKELELE
DAVEY Langit of Pinoy Dream Academy offers a collection of tuneful pop song covers in “Mad About Acoustic 2."
He expands his intrumental palette by being a full-time ukelele picker by running through songs like The Lazy Song, Baby I Love Your Way and Beautiful Girl, to name a few.
At the same time, he revived gems like Bobby McFerrin's Don't Worry, Be Happy and the Commodore classic, Easy.
Other choiced cuts with “uke” arrangement include: All The Way, Blue Moon and Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World. There is also a playful take on the 90s dance hit Boom Shaka Laka and Davey's cover of Maroon 5's Sunday Morning.
Davey's ukelele versions offers quite a relaxing and more subduet sound than that of its 6-stringed counterpart. He makes you feel like you're in a tropical island vocation.
