Ruffa to meet new BF in Brazil?

RUFFA Gutuierrez and brothers Richard and Raymond signed up with Viva Artists who’ll now manage them when it comes to endorsements. Ruffa just had a holiday vacation in L.A. and New York with her brothers and daughters Lorin and Venice. She left again last Wednesday night, this time for Rio de Janeiro. She’s with Cristalle Belo Henares and they’ll attend the Bahia Viao Musicfest.

“I’m excited as it’s my first time in South America,” she told us before she left. “Dapat sa Rio Carnival kami pupunta but it’s two weeks from now pa and 3 times more expensive. Sa hotel pa lang, $25,000 na ang charge so ngayon na lang kami pupunta.”

It’s said she met with her new BF in the U.S. and would be with him again in Brazil. “It’s not true na may kinakatagpo akong bagong boyfriend. I’m more excited to see the famous Iguasu Falls in Brazil. I’m happy to be single, walang sakit ng ulo. It’s a choice, lalo na when I hear from my girlfriends about their experiences in having bad relationships.”

Like the one she had with John Lloyd Cruz? “That was just blown out of proportion. People thought na ang laki-laking problem for me but it’s not. After I said my piece, tapos na.”

How about Eduardo Puertas, the Latino businessman linked to her? “He’s leaving the country to be assigned somewhere else. Ganun talaga pag expats, when their contract expires, they have to leave. Eh, ako, I’m not ready to start a new life with anyone yet. I have commitments here and I have yet to get my annulment. I’ll just wait for the special someone with whom I might end up with for the rest of my life. As of now, mas priority ko rin ang daughters ko as I’m mom and dad to them. Working mom pa ko dahil wala namang financial help from their dad.”

She now stays in their Dasma home with Raymond while their parents have moved back to their newly renovated home in White Plains. “But eventually, we’ll transfer to a condo in Makati. Ganun din si Raymond.”

RICHARD LAUDS KC'S DARINGNESS

RICHARD Gutierrez says the finale of “Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles” on February 10 will definitely surprise viewers. “I can’t reveal kung sino ang top three na matitira but there’ll be a twist that might shock some people so don’t miss it,” he adds.

Will he be willing to host another season of “Survivor”? “Yes, as hosting gives me a different kind of fulfillment. My suggestion is pagsamahin lahat ng best players sa past four season of ‘Survivor Philippines’, including past winners. But before that, I’m going to do a soap kasi nami-miss ko na ang drama acting. I’ve sat down with the GMA Creative Team and we’re now developing the story and the characters. This is going back to basics sa acting, wala munang fantasy like ‘Captain Barbell’. I told them to challenge me with something new. I don’t want a goody-goody perfect hero role. The heart of a good drama is still a good love story, so may love angle pa rin and we have come up with a short list of leading ladies na puro hindi ko pa nakakapareha before. I also want to do a serious movie this year. I’m considering of doing an indie film at nagpahanap na ko ng material na out of the box, pati character na gagampanan ko.”

Among his past leading ladies, who would he like to work with again? “The fans are asking for a reunion with Angel Locsin, with whmo I did hit films like ‘Let the Love Begin’ and ‘The Promise’, also with KC Concepcion. Kaya lang pareho silang nasa kabila.”

What does he think of KC’s recent heartbreak? “I never doubted she’d handle everything with grace. I’ve seen her sexy Rogue magazine cover. Ang ganda. I’m very happy for her.”

ARNELL WON'T ALLOW DAUGHTER TO WATCH HIS DARING MOVIE

ARNELL Ignacio was having a fever when we interviewed him but he still showed up to prove he’s a real pro. “Nakakahiya naman sa producer namin ng ‘Bola’ if I wouldn’t help promote it,” he says. “In fairness to them, parang hindi indie movie ang ginawa namin kasi pati sa lighting, they spent for it. May crane shots pa. When the movie was offered to me, nagandahan ako sa role ko as a gay designer sa probinsiya na nagbibihis ng mga Santo sa prusisyon pero tumutulong magpaaral sa basketball players para mahada niya. Na-obsessed ako sa newcomer ditong si Kenneth Salva kahit alam kong girlfriend niya 'yung model kong beauty queen. Highlight ng movie 'yung bedscene namin.”

Will he allow his daughter, Sofia, to watch the movie? “Naku, hindi. Puwede ba, eh nakikipaghalikan ako sa kapwa ko lalaki. She’s now 15.” Has she heard from Sofia’s mom, Frannie, after they separated? “We broke up in 2004 pa and since then, wala na akong balita. Sa lahat ng relasyon ko, doon ako nasaktan kasi kasal kami and I thought we’ll grow old together. Eh, siya, naniwala sa lahat ng mga intriga, laging nagsususpetsa.”

He stresses that “Bola” is not just a gay film. “Mas maraming bed scenes si Kenneth with Sofia Valdez dito who plays his girlfriend. Kasama rin dito si Suzette Ranillo as Kenneth’s widowed mom at si Simon Ibarra as my best friend na malanding gay at mas open kaysa sa ’kin. First shooting day ko, puyat na puyat ako and I told the make-up artist, bahala ka na. When I woke up, sinadsad ang buhok ko. Sabi ko, gaga, wig 'yan, pinutulan mo, P40,000 'yan. Kaya di ko malilimutan ang pelikulang ito.”

“Bola” is produced by R&B Entertainment & Amazing Productions, written by Jerry Gracio and directed by Lem Lorca of Mauban, Quezon.

ISABELLE DISMISSES ROMANTIC LINK WITH CHRIS

ISABELLE Daza admits she’s much comfortable as a host than as an actress. “In hosting kasi, it’s more like you’re just being yourself and you can do a lot of adlibs,” she says. “Sa acting, you have to assume a role, a character and you have to memorize your lines. I’ve tried it na in ‘Futbolilits’ so I know it’s not easy. I really need a lot more training before I can accept more acting assignments kasi wala naman akong formal studies in acting at all. Ayoko namang basta umarte and be mediocre.”

She’s glad to be co-hosting GMA7’s new infotainment show, “iBilib,” with Chris Tiu. “This is our first time to work there and it helps na magkakilala na kami as we used to be neighbors in the same village,” she says.

Some writers say they might fall for each other but she just laughs it off. “I know Chris has a non-showbiz girlfriend at matagal na sila. Ako rin naman, kilala niya ang non-showbiz boyfriend ko, so huwag nyo na kami i-link sa isa’t isa as we’re both taken. But I like working with him kasi he’s very intelligent and very professional. Ako naman, para akong cosplayer rito na iba-iba ang outfits and I even wear a blonde wig.”

“iBilib” starts airing this Sunday right after Sen. Bong Revilla’s “Kap’s Amazing Stories.”

TICKETS TO ANNE'S CONCERT SOLD OUT

ANNE Curtis is understandably on tenterhooks these days. She’s nervous about her “Anne-Bisyosa, No Other Concert,” to be held tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum. “First and last concert ko ito kaya ‘No Other Concert’ ang title. Nakakatuwa dahil halos sold out na raw ang tickets. Ibig sabihin, maraming interesadong marinig akong bumibirit,” she laughs.

2011 was no doubt a good year for her with the big success of her film “No Other Woman” and her hit debut album, “Anne-Bisyosa.” “Mas mahirap itong concert kaysa sa movie at album, but I know I’m starting the year right with my concert at sana, magtuluy-tuloy up to year’s end.”

Concert director Rico Gutierrez says Anne will be a big revelation. “Her songs, dance numbers and all her costumes styled by Liz Uy and Pam Quiñones are all stunning. Definitely, the audience will get its money’s worth sa panonood nila sa concert na ito.”
