HER co-stars, Ogie Alcasid, Jillian Ward, Manilyn Reynes, Marc Abaya and other members of the cast of “Daldalita,” will miss Rufa Mae Quinto terribly being the livewire of the group. The fantaserye is soon ending. But the feeling is mutual for Rufa Mae.
But that’s showbiz and like any other jobs, there’s always a beginning and an end. But Rufa Mae isn’t only saying goodbye to that show. It is also said that Rufa is leaving Backroom and will be managed by Viva Films.
She is also doing a new movie production venture with partner Boy2 Quizon under a company called Brown Sugar Productions. What partnership, we asked? Is it business or personal? She only gave a naughty guffaw.
After “Daldalita,” Rufa wants to concentrate on movie production with three films with three incorporators: Rep. Bullit Jalosjos, Rambo Nunez and Martin Avila. First project is an action-comedy flick cum horror. So while Rufa gets sad about the passing of her dear grandmother whom she fondly calls My Angel, she has to keep herself busy. She will also never give up doing “Bubble Gang” with Ogie Alcasid, Michael V, Maureen Larrazabal, Boy 2 Quizon and Antonio Aquitania because it’s a big therapy for her.
CARLA WANTS TO STAY WITH GMA7
CARLA Abellana is non-committal yet about a rumored contract with ABS-CBN. But she has yet to sit down with GMA7 execs for a new contract.
What she knows is that her manager, Arnold Vegafria, is cooking up something with ABS-CBN.
Carla still has one month to go for her GMA contract and up to now there is no move yet from GMA. She’ll cross the bridge when she gets there. She’s very happy with GMA and her heart belongs to the network, if she’d be asked.
While doing the last few days for “Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit,” she is hesitant to end it hoping for more surprise twists. How she loves her role in the teleserye because the challenges are unlimited.
She feels saying goodbye is hard to do. Looking forward to a brighter projects is what matters.
PACMAN A FUTURE EVANGELIST?
LOOKS like Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is firm with the decision to get more share than Manny ‘Pacman “ Pacquiao take home pay in case they face in the ring. Organizers are itching for the fight set for May 5 this year. If Manny won’t bite the deal of 50/50 deal, a possible match would be with Juan Manuel Marquez again.
Right now, Pacquiao is deep serious with his Bible studies. There are times when he lacks sleep due to tapings but he still makes it a point to wake up for spiritual vow with God together with wife, Jinkee. Do we see Manny becoming an Evangelist someday?
Pacman’s TV game show, “Manny Many Prizes” is doing great guns with fabulous prizes every week. He wants nobody to go home empty handed that he even shoulders some contestant’s fare when one doesn’t hit the jackpot.
