DID you know that My Cactus Heart, Star Cinema’s upcoming offering starring Maja Salvador, Matteo Guidicelli and Xian Lim, originally had a different title?

Well, according to director Enrico Santos, what inspired him to adapt the new title, was when he heard Maja deliver the dialogue, “Tinik, tinik (sabay turo sa kanyang heart).”

Oo nga naman, Direk Enrico allegedly told himself. Love can be matinik.

It’s when you overcome all these tiniks sa iyong dibdib will you and your iniibig realize na puwedeng hawiin ang kahit pinakamatinding tinik ng katapat na pag-ibig.

This is why, feeling ni Direk Enrico, maraming kabataan na kasing-edad nina Maja at Matteo o maging people older, ang makaka-identify sa mga character na ginagampanan ng dalawa sa pelikula, maging ni Xian man.

Sabi pa ni Direk Enrico, Xian was doing My Cactus Heart na bago pa man napasa-kanya ang role na Andi sa katatapos na series na My Binondo Girl.

Magkapatid sila ni Matteo sa nabanggit na series. Ayon sa huli, ito ang dahilan why the two of them worked comfortably in My Cactus Heart.

One month din daw ang itinagal ng shooting ng movie. But after viewing the film’s rushes, dugtong pa ni Direk Enrico, tiyak niyang ’di siya mapapahiya sa mga manonood.

“We have a good movie,” he assured us.

Frustration pala ni Maja ang maging singer. No wonder na ito ang gusto niyang puntiryahin sa taong ito.

Walang dudang mahusay si Maja as a dancer. This is one asset she already has noon pa mang ’di pa siya artista.

Kuwento ni Maja, noong ginawa ang video for My Cactus Heart, feeling niya, sila ni Matteo ang aawit ng Kaba. Kaya disappointed daw siya when sa final video shoot, tanging si Matteo ang pinili ni Mico del Rosario ng Star Cinema PR department na umawit ng Kaba for the video.

Ganunpaman daw, walang dahilan para ma-disappoint ang mga tagahanga ni Maja, dahil she gets to sing the song Puwedeng Mahalin Ka with Matteo in the movie.

His name is Lemuel Pelayo.

If Lemuel looks familiar, it is because siya ang kapareha ni Angel Locsin sa tvc ng Modess.

Pangarap daw ni Lemuel na maging leading lady sa isang movie si Angel in the future.

“Why not?” ang maliksing sagot ng baguhan. “If ever, malaking honor ’yan para sa akin.”

In Matteo’s case, stardom was offered to him on a silver platter.

A champion racer, his family is well-off in Cebu. He was just on vacation in the country from his studies abroad when he was offered to try showbiz.

He was immediately given the lead role opposite then fellow newcomer Andi Eigenmann in Agua Bendita. This was followed by the movie Catch Me… I’m in Love, which marked the first team-up nina Gerald Anderson at Sarah Geronimo.
