RHIAN Ramos is back to work shooting for the movie “Kontrabida Girl” that has a February 29 playdate. The story is about showbiz and Rhian plays an actress who is typecast as the perfect kontrabida like Bella Flores, Celia Rodriguez and Gladys Reyes before her (they’re all guest stars in the movie). She is so credible as a cruel and scheming villain on screen, so she’s often asked to give support to various lead stars. But in real life, she’s a sweet girl who has yet to be lucky in love.

Many Kapuso stars will appear in the movie doing cameo roles as the stars to whom she plays villain. They’re all eager to help Rhian bounce back in her career after her sad experience with nasty ex-BF DJ Mo. Among them are Lolit Solis who plays her manager and Ricky Lo who plays a TV host, like what he does in “Startalk.”

Lolit is said to be so hilarious in her scenes with Rhian that Director Jade Castro (best known for indie films like “Endo” and “Zombadings”) wants to extend her role but she refused because most of her scenes are take 3 or 4 before she can perfect them. “Alam kong makakatulong ako sa box office para sa pelikulang ito, pero hindi ko talaga type mag-artista,” she said laughing. “’Pag hinabaan pa ang role ko, baka masapawan ko pa si Rhian kaya tama na 'yung nagawa kong exposure.”

PLACING BET ON BUGOY

OF all the child actors at ABS-CBN today, we place our bets on the lovable Bugoy Carino. We think he’s better, not only in looks but also acting-wise, than Zaijian Jaranilla and even child actress Xyriel Manabat. We’re glad he now gets to play the title role in “E-Boy” after winning the Metro filmfest best child actor award for his fine performance in the “Tamawo” episode of “Shake Rattle & Roll 13.” We’ve interviewed him up close and he’s reeking with charm and is also very smart. We just wish he’d grow tall so that he can be a matinee idol when he becomes a teener.

His director, FM Reyes, and co-stars in “E-Boy” like Agot Isidro, Ariel Rivera, Jomari Yllana, Valerie Concepcion, Jaime Fabregas, Pen Medina, Chinggoy Alonzo and Arjo Atayde have nothing but praises for him: “He’s a born entertainer.” “He’s multi-talented kasi magaling umarte, kumanta at sumayaw.” “He’s witty, charismatic, sharp, bright.” “Bata pa, pero marami ng talents na alam.”

Bugoy (Roger Kyle is his  full name) was only six when he won in the Star Circle Quest for kids. He then became a part of “Going Bulilit.” In “E-Boy”, he plays a child robot who has the qualities of a human being. He dreams of being a real boy with flesh and blood. In his journey, he’ll meet and affect the lives of various people who’d teach him the value of love, friendship and family. It’ll start airing tonight replacing “Ikaw ay Pag-ibig” right after “TV Patrol.”

DIRECTOR CRIES OVER DEATH SCENE

DIRECTOR FM Reyes admitted he cried when he was directing the scene in “E-Boy” showing the death of Ariel Rivera’s son. It brought back memories of the passing of his and wife Rita Avila’s own baby. “Nagulat ako when someone asked me about during the presscon as it reminded me of so many painful things na hanggang ngayon, masakit pa rin,” he says. “But we all have to move on and I’m glad sa ’kin nabigay ang pagdidirek ng ‘E-Boy’ kasi it’s really not a show for children but about the family.”

Is there pressure on his part that the show will be aired in a slot where all past shows involving kids like Zaijian and Xyriel were all topraters? “Yes, meron, but iba naman ang show namin. ’Yung ‘May Bukas Pa’ and ‘100 Days to Heaven’, more on the spiritual. Kami naman, more on the pragmatic side, about science kasi tungkol sa making a robot. It’s right to rely on God but you should also contribute something. Ikaw, bilang tao, ano bang puwede mong gawin nang di puro asa na lang  nang asa sa Diyos. And I’m so happy our star is Bugoy Carino as he’s very intelligent. He easily understands kung ano gusto mong ipagawa sa kanya. You can see his parents raised him well compared to other child stars kasi ang ganda ng attitude. Kahit pagod na kami lahat, he smiles or breaks into song kaya maaaliw ka talaga sa presence niya sa set.”

WHAT CAMILLE WANTS HER SON TO BELIEVE

ALL the stars of “Munting Heredera” expressed their sadness after the show had its last taping day yesterday, Sunday. At their thanksgiving party, Camille Prats, who plays Sandra, said the show helped her a lot to recover after her late husband Anthony Linsangan passed at such a young age. “Lahat ng co-stars ko and Direk Maryo de los Reyes supported me at naging sandalan ko sila at the time I was grieving,” she added. “Dahil sa kanila at sa show, I was able to move on. Blessing talaga sila at kung wala sila, baka naloka ako, kaya sobrang mami-miss ko silang lahat at ang suporta nila.”

She’s also thankful for her two-year old son who’s the light of her life. “Noong Christmas, when we visited his dad sa memorial park, nagpalagay ako ng gift sa ibabaw ng tomb ng dad and when we went there, I told him it’s a gift from heaven. Bigay ng dad niya sa kanya. Uulitin ko yun sa birthday niya for him to continue believing that his dad loves him very much kahit wala na ito sa piling namin.”

“Munting Heredera” will have its last telecast on February 3. Find out what happens to the various characters, especially the love story of Camille and Mark Anthony, Gloria and Robert Arevalo. This will be replaced by “My Beloved” starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera starting February 6.

EULA SAYS ROMANCE WITH ROCKY ISN'T ROCKY AT ALL

EULA Valdez is honored to reprise a role originally played by Susan Roces in “Mundo Man ay Magunaw.” “Mahirap 'yung role kasi mabibilanggo ka, malalayo ka sa mga anak mo, aapihin ka ng maraming tao, but I welcome all the challenges it offer,” she says.

So which one does she prefer to do: a “mabait” role like this one or a “kontrabida” role like what she just did in the remake of “Mula sa Puso?” “The truth is it’s more tiring to do a villain role kasi lagi kang galit, high blood, and it can be more emotionally draining.”

Is it true she and model Rocky Salumbides have broken up? It’s said she now goes out with a much younger man. “Saan naman galing 'yan? As far as I know, kami pa rin. Baka 'yung eldest son ko ang nakitang kasama ko, si Miguel. He’s 17 now and he’s tall at 5’11” so puwede ngang pagkamalang boyfriend ko.”

She also just appeared as a judge in GMA-7’s “The Protege.” It’s good she can go back and forth between two top networks? “Wala namang problema kasi I’m not under contract with any network kaya libre akong lumabas kunsaan may kumuha sa’kin.”

Since the title of her new soap is “Mundo Man ay Magunaw”, what can be a sufficient reason for her to feel like it’s the end of the world? “Losing my two kids. Kasi I’ve experienced losing two partners, hindi naman nagunaw ang mundo ko. Those guys naman kasi didn’t come from me, unlike my own children na ako talaga ang nagluwal sa kanila so if something bad happens to them or I’d lose them, then, para sigurong nagunaw ang mundo ko.”

LOVE TRIANGLE ON 'PBB'

PBB Unlimited had its 7th nomination night last Saturday. Team Wayuk members were exempted from being nominated as they won in the Kontra Battle against Team High Voltage when they played detectives and it was Team Wayuk who correctly deduced that the killer in the case they handled was the pizza delivery boy. Slater and Divine joined Team Wayuk for that game and they felt bad when Paco of Wayuk was so jubilant when they won. They felt he should have restrained himself.

Tin and Kevin were punished by Kuya for being voracious eaters. They were told not to eat anything but crackers and water. To further punish them, they were brought to a table laden with different kinds of yummy food but they’re forbidden to even taste it, whereas their guests, Biggel and Eting, had all the liberty to gorge themselves with food, glorious food! Tin was annoyed with Biggel who seems to be tempting them and this must be the reason why she gave two points for Biggel to be nominated. Looks like the magic between Tin and the Promdi Biggel is gone and she is now more attracted to the balikbayan Amboy, Kevin. Is this a love triangle in the making? Let’s see.

Since it’s Chinese New Year, they were all dressed up in Chinese costumes. Earlier, they hosted a dinner party for Toni who celebrated her birthday on Friday. Joining them were other PBB hosts, Bianca Gonzalez and Robi Domingo, along with Toni’s BF Direk Paul Soriano. Then Toni announced who the nominees for eviction are: Wendy (highest pointer with 11 points), Divine, Joya and Carlo. Saved are Biggel, Eting and Tin.
