VICTORY party for the cast, production staff and crew of Enteng Ng Ina Mo, the official top grosser in the 2011 Metro Manila Filmfest (MMFF).
If they were a happy group when they arrived sa venue ng party, the 9501 Restaurant sa ELJ Building ng ABS CBN, they were even happier when they left. Papaano, each of them was handed an envelope na may lamang bonus for a job well done courtesy ng Star Cinema, Octo Films, APT Productions and of course, M Zet.
As of this writing, Angie Pineda, head of the marketing arm ng Star Cinema, which handled the bookings arm of the movie, said na nakaka-more than P260M something na ang gross ng Enteng Ng Ina Mo.
And it’s counting pa, sabi ni Eric John Salut, who hosted the occasion, dahil showing pa ang movie hanggang Tuesday. At malamang na lalong tumaas pa ang gross nito.
“Will it exceed kaya the gross ng Praybet Benjamin, which had Vice Ganda played the title role, considered the top-grossing Tagalog film ever, since kumita ito ng more than P300M in its more than one month run?” tanong namin kay Angie.
“Malamang na hindi,” sagot ni Angie. “But we have to consider the fact that when Praybet Benjamin was shown, it was the only Tagalog film that was shown.
“In the case of Enteng... well, dahil MMFF entry nga ito, it has to compete with six other films.”
It was Angie who predicted that Enteng Ng Ina Mo would make, at least, P250M, when she saw the influx ng manonood ng movie on its first day.
Sabi daw sa kanya ni Orly, P200M lang ang kitain ng Enteng … masaya na siya.
No doubt na mas naging masaya si Orly na nag-more than the amount predicted ni Angie ang kinita ng movie.
Boss Orly’s OctoArts Films was also the producer of the Judy Ann Santos-Ryan Agoncillo starrer My Househusband, which emerged 4th top grosser sa katatapos na MMFF.

Asked why up to now ay parang wala pa ring sawa ang manonood sa pagtangkilik sa kanyang movies, Vic Sotto replied: “Wala sa akin ang magic. Na kay Ai-Ai.
“Marami akong natutuhan sa kanya tungkol sa pananampalataya.”
When they finally sensed daw na walang duda ngang sila na ang pinaka-top-grossing entry, kinayag daw siya ni Ai-Ai na bumisita at mag-abuloy sa ilang simbahan.
Naka-sampu daw yata silang simbahang napuntahan. And they were the churches na talagang, ayon kay Vic, nangangailangan ng tulong.
Will Enteng Ng Ina Mo have a sequel?
“Pinag-iisipan namin,” sagot ni Malou Santos, managing director ng Star Cinema.
Sabi namin kay Malou, she would consider a sequel to Enteng, as all those who have watched the movie surely would want na makitang manganak si Aiza Seguerra na ’di naman itinatago ang gender. Yes, maging sa tunay na buhay.
Towards the ending of Enteng Ng Ina Mo, in-assume ng manonood na nabuntis si Aiza ni Alwyn Uytingco, who plays gay na anak ni Ai-Ai pero nagkaanak, na ginagampanan naman ni Xyriel Manabat.
In her speech nga during the blowout, binanggit ni Aiza na isa sa hindi niya makakalimutan tungkol sa Enteng Ng Ina Mo ay ang pangyayaring ‘nabuntis’ nga siya.
