SC upholds Quiambao

THE Supreme Court ruled in a decision handed down last June 8  that Cezar T. Quiambao is the real owner of Strategic Development Alliance Corporation (Stradec) and that the rival Bonifacio Sumbilla-Aderito Yujuico group has no authority to represent the company.

The High Tribunal upheld the earlier ruling of the Regional Trial Court Branch 155 of Pasig City that said: “After a careful evaluation of the arguments raised by the contending parties in support of their respective contentions, the Court rules in favor of Cezar T. Quiambao, finding the latter and his group as the lawful and valid representative of Stradec in all its dealings with CMMTC (Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corp.).”

The RTC decision upheld by the Supreme Court “should now be considered the law of the case,” Quiambao said.

Quiambao is president of Stradcom Corporation, the exclusive Information Technology provider of the Land Transportation Office. He is also the founding investor and president of Stradec, which is engaged in projects through consortium or joint venture information.

Sumbilla and Yujuico, Quiambao said, “are trying to claim ownership of Stradcom through their participation in Stradec which they are saying is somehow an investor in Stradcom. These statements by Mr. Sumbilla and Mr. Yujuico are false and incorrect on all counts. Stradec is not among the investors of Stradcom Corporation and the two are not even authorized to represent Stradec.”

The two, he added, illegally held a board of directors meeting without the board’s consent, the results of which they wanted to use to claim ownership of Stradec.
