WOW, let’s give a hand to Christian Bautista, Karylle and Thou Reyes for grabbing three of the top roles in the PanAsian musical drama series The Kitchen Musical which, who knows, might win them stardom in the Asian showbiz market.

Kunsabagay, in the case of Christian, this is not the first time that he is proving his mettle both as a singer and actor in an Asian project.

In Indonesia, we heard report, that her name is a byword among music lovers. He has also appeared in an Indonesian movie, which won him a following in that region as an actor.

In the case of Karylle and Thou, this is definitely  their first Asian project.

For the project, Karylle had to temporarily bid goodbye to her daily talent show Showtime which she co-hosts with Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro and Anne Curtis.

Karylle, together with Christian and Thou, will have to stay in Singapore for three months, not just to familiarize herself with the role assigned to her but also to rehearse for it.

Karylle said, she is glad her co-hosts, including their director Bobbit Vidanes, are all wishing her good luck. Likewise, Direk Bobbit assures her once she is back, puwede niya uling i-claim ang kanyang trabaho bilang co-host ng Showtime.

Thou had to audition for the role twice. And twice, he was declared na nakapasa.

This is Thou’s first time to be away from his closely-knit family this long, kaya raw he is looking forward to win a bagong mga Kapamilya sa kanyang stint sa musical.

The Kitchen Musical is an original production by the Group Entertainment. It is set to launch as a series in the Philippines on Studio 23 and in 19 countries across Asia this October.

The musical will be staged, though, ngayong June sa Singapore.

The Kitchem Musical is a multi-million dollar franchise featuring a titillating blend of drama, po-pular music, sizzling dance sequences a mouth-watering recipes.

It is the story about a rich young girl, fresh out of culinary school in Paris. She embarks on a journey of self-discovery nang magsimula siyang magka-trabaho sa restaurant na pag-a-ari ng kanyang ama.

Karylle will play the role of Meddie, the central character in the play.

Christian, on the other hand, is assigned bilang Daniel, childhood friend ni Maddie at nagtatrabaho bilang chef ng restaurant.

Isang cook naman ang role na ginagampanan ni Thou.

In the cas are other Filipino stage actors Arthur Acuna, who is a New York-based stage and screen actor, Ikey Canoy, a theater actor and founding member ng acapella singing group na Akafellas.

Behind the production are notable talents, including Jason Coleman, Australia’s top choreographer and one of the current judges in Australia’s So You Think You can Dance Massimiliano Della Maggesa or Max The Joker, Donna Karan and Chloe, and respected Filipino conductor Gerard Salonga, who will serve as the musical director.

Prior to the launch of the full 13 episodes on Studio 23, The The Kitchen Musical, according to Studio 23 programming head, Vince Rodriguez, magkakaroon ng premiere and first episode nito sa programang Sunday’s Best ng ABS CBN Channel 2.

Studio 23, Vince further stated, is one of the country’s top four free to air TV stations, offering a dynamic music of local, foreign music and sports program.
