TWO men were killed while four others were injured in an attack in Dasmariñas City in Cavite by two gunmen riding an unlicensed jeep last Sunday, police said.
Investigation showed that victims Anthony Alvarado, Manuel Tan and Cornelio Amoroso were on board a tricycle when the suspects blocked their path in front of the Neth Canteen on Paliparan-Molino Road in Bgy. Paliparan 2, Dasmariñas City, at 8 p.m. Sunday and started shooting without any provocation.
Alvarado died on the spot while Tan, who was shot in the body, and Amoroso, who was hit by a bullet in the left foot, managed to escape and seek help from local residents.
Stray bullets hit and killed a bystander identified as Ronald Devar and also wounded Mark Jester Asilo and Heidred Vina who were then inside their respective houses.
Asilo and Vina, who both suffered bullet wounds in their feet, were taken to the San Jose Trauma Center in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, for treatment along with Tan and Amoroso.
Police Regional Office 4-A director Chief Supt. Gil Meneses said responding policemen recovered nine spent M-16 casings and two spent caliber .45 cartridges at the scene.
Meneses has ordered Cavite Police Provincial Office director Senior Supt. John Bulalacao to go all-out in identifying and arresting the suspects.
The motive behind the attack is still being investigated as of yesterday, he said.
