La Salle-Greenhills A coasted through a 65-37 rout of Ateneo-B over the weekend to claim its third straight win in as many games and the Group D lead of the Small Basketeers Philippines competition in the twin SBP-Passerelle tournament backed by Milo and organized by the Best Center of former national coach Nic Jorge.
Ateneo thus fell to its second straight defeat as it remained winless on a day the Xavier School gym saw other routs in the Saturday and Sunday games.
Lourdes School-QC (1-1) blasted Xavier-B (0-2) in the other Group C match.
Lourdes School-Mandaluyong, however, made up for its sister school’s loss by claiming its third straight win in Group C via a 105-20 scuttling of St. Mary’s College, which skidded to its second straight defeat.
Ateneo-A also upped its record to 2-0 in Group A following a 40-38 escape past San Beda-Rizal (1-1), in a tie with Notre Dame, which beat Letran (0-2), 45-30.
Group B games saw Colegio San Agustin (2-0) over Xavier-A (1-1), 46-39; and University of the East (1-1) over Marist-B (1-1), 51-14.
In Passerelle action, it was: Group A- La Salle-Greenhills A (1-1) over Raises Montessori (0-2), 74-9; Xavier (2-0) over Lourdes School-Mandaluyong (1-1), 77-19; Group D— Claret (2-0) over Kids World Christian Academy (0-2), 67-52, on Saturday, and over Lourdes-QC (2-1), 82-28, on Sunday; Lourdes-QC over Sta. Clara International (0-2), 67-52; and La Salle-Greenhills A (2-0) over Kids World Academy (0-3), 109-15.
