IF you’d believe the write ups on her, Anne Curtis is surely the busiest actress in town today. She’s currently shooting “Buy Bust”, an action flick for Director Erik Matti opposite Ultimate Fighter Brandon Vera where she figures in a number of slambang action set pieces. Some writers are also insinuating she will play snake-haired Valentina to Liza Soberano’s Darna.
She is also supposed to make a reunion movie with Richard Gutierrez now that Chard has also moved to ABS-CBN. Then she is also scheduled to do a movie with a famous Korean actor as arranged by Viva Entertrainment, probably with Gong Yoo.
And throughout all these projects, she’s likewise supposed to be very busy attending to the details of her coming wedding with fiance Erwan Heussaff, which is said to be happening soon. Whew! Just mentioning all these varied activities in her very hectic schedule already makes us feel so tired. So all we can say is: Good luck, Anne! Don’t you wish you had a body double?
TOM STILL GRIEVING, KEEPS SELF BUSY
TOM Rodriguez continues to grieve for his dad who lost the battle with the big C just a couple of months ago. “It’s hard kasi the more na gusto mong alisin sa isip mo what happened to your loved one, mas lalo mong naiisip,” he says. “Madali lang sabihin na move on na, but you can’t do it nang basta-basta. It's easier said than done. There are stages of grieving na dapat mong pagdaanan talaga. I was really close to my late dad kaya it will definitely take some time before I can get over doon sa sad feelings of loss ko.”
Being busy with work helps takes his mind away from his feelings of sadness. He’s now busy with “I Heart Davao” that will replace ‘Meant to Be’ starting on Monday. For a while, he also taped for ‘Mulawin Vs. Ravena’. “Pero pinatay na 'yung character ko roon kaya hindi na ako babalik,” he says. “It’s Carla Abellana, who plays my wife, na siyang babalik pa roon to be with our daughter, Anya, played by Bea Binene.”
In “I Heart Davao”, he’s glad to be working with Carla again. “Napaka-supportive ni Carla and I’m thankful kasi alam niyang may pinagdaraanan ako. She’s always there to cheer me up. Nakatulong ding we shoot our show on location in Davao. We both fell in love with the place. Maraming magagandang scenic spots and the people are all so warm and nice kaya nag-enjoy kami talaga working there.”
Soon, Tom will also start shooting a new movie for a big company where he will reprise his role in “My Husband’s Lover”, with a big name actress playing the role of his wife, but he’s not allowed yet to reveal the details of the production.
CHARICE CHANGES NAME TO JAKE ZYRUS
CHARICE Pempengco has been reborn. She’s now known as Jake Zyrus. She just went live on her Instagram account, that has more than 120,000 followers, after being absent from it for more than two months when it was reported that she broke up with her live in partner named Alyssa Quijano. And she now introduces herself as Jake Zyrus, which is also her new name in her Twitter account.
Looks like she has moved on from her break up and is ready to start life on a new clean slate. Someone asked her about Alyssa and she said she doesn’t know because they don’t communicate anymore and have completely lost touch. There are talks that they broke because of money matters but she won’t confirm or deny it.
Charice (or Jake Zyrus) looks more masculine than ever with her very short haircut and simple boy’s T-shirt. As one of her fans commented: “Binatang-binata ang dating, a. Barako boy.”
She said what they see now is the real Charice as the old one before was just the image her handlers wanted her to project then. Now, what you see is what you get.
Someone even asked her if she just had one drink too many and she said repeatedly: “No, I’m not drunk. I’m not drunk. Hindi rin ako addict, huh. Nagpa-tattoo lang ako, addict na raw. Hindi ako addict!”
Well, here’s hoping that Charice’s transformation as Jake will help her to still be able to recover her lost glory. At this stage, she really needs new managers and handlers who will help re-energize her dormant career and put her back on track. Let’s face it, she was very successful at some point in her career, even conquering the U.S. market and doing Hollywood movies.
All this she lost when she became defiant in coming out and living in with Alyssa. People can only take so much. It was too sudden and abrupt for her fans, unlike Aiza Seguerra who tested the waters first before admitting her true sexual preference to the public and, as such, is able to maintain her career even when she later had a same sex marriage with Liza Diño.
