WHEN you go Yowie hunting, you expect (or hope) to find what Yowie hunter Jason Heal has seen, heard, smelled and felt:
… growling, rocks thrown, tree branches snapped, strange smells, felt as if we are being watched, seen many foot prints, felt like being followed walking out in the middle of no where late at night.
What you don’t expect to find is Yowie messing with your wheels. Yet that’s exactly what Heal says he found on a recent trip – a Yowie hand or paw print on the rear window of his dusty Jeep.
Heal is one half of the team of Jason Heal and Jason Dunn, better known as J & J Yowie Search. They made news in April 2014 when they released a video of a Yowie (Australia’s Bigfoot) recorded in South Queensland which they claimed to have lured to their infrared tree camera with apples, the favorite food of many hairy cryptids.
“Take a look at this video, We believe its a young Yowie in the early morning on Saturday 29/03/2014. Watch how it moves side to side the way it lifts its head as it looks at the apples on the rock. You can see the eyes shine as it concentrates on the apples taking no notice of the Infrared from the tree camera.”
That video was met with skepticism due to its quality and the story about getting the Yowie’s attention with apples.
The latest video was posted by Heal on March 9, 2015. Here’s what he says happened:
Headed to a Pine Forest to collect my tree cam. Back at my Jeep I noticed a very large handprint on the back window.
Heal believes the print was made in that spot because he always picks up dust on that road. The large print has five fingers or appendages and five long claws. It doesn’t appear he found any other prints on the Jeep or the ground.
Did Heal’s Jeep get admired by a Yowie? There are no bears or animals roaming eastern Australia that might match the print. The print isn’t humanoid but many believe Yowie is more animal-like. Whatever it is, it’s sure to cause arguments among Yowie hunters, believers and skeptics.
